The project is about one of the most currently discussed topics of urban redevelopment within the city. This recognizable public spaces in the central area of Torino, is at the same time home to the most famous city open market. The MBGP's design response to the challenges that the plaza present today incorporate an array of solutions aimed mainly to give back this area historical neighborhood gardens to its cityzens. The three main characters involved in this transformation will be the community people, the Church facing the plaza and the merchants occupaying daily the space. The design proposes to keep hosting the merchants on the external ring dedicated to the market area, while increasing the green central area dedicated esplicity to garden. A particularly dedicated area will be set up just in front of the beautiful Church along the north side. The entire plaza area will host a new underground parking are developed on 3 floors, while also providing private storage space for the market merchants. Part of the central garden area will be recessed offering an open sky lower plaza with dedicated public space for neighborhood activities (elementary school usable areas) and hosting few permanent shop area.
