PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Design Proposal for a new Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City based its concept idea on an iconic building in order to physically represent the importance and the status of the function hosted. Relating to the Mexican culture, the project consisted in an innovative reinterpretation of a living natural structure rising from the rough and desertic ground. The materiality of the building - heavy at the lower levels, and lighter and transparent towards the top - and the design choices as the light generator concept from the top down to serve the 2-levels structure, help the development of the program and its delicate private functions. The internal layout responds at the emotional intelligence contemporary standards, so to stimulate the productivity and to enhance the quality of the work space giving more freedom and comfort to the workers and refusing old and overused static office layouts.
