TheRiddone20 residential project can be described as a true adventure between architecture (in a complex and stimulating historic context) and socio-economic field. The hosting area is a wonderful historical village situated in the beauty and famous hills around Alba, in Cuneo wine district, Piedmont. Sensibility is definitely the right word to describe how MBGP approached the project by respecting the historical surrounding area and creating a connection with the surrounding buildings thanks to the use of area traditional materials (bricks above all), determination of mass and volumes, and site layout (with its internal courtyard) all belonging to the local culture. The socio-economic aspect is related to the organization of the people around the project. The social concept of cooperative developed for this project in fact, allowed different people, not in the business field before, to became a sort of entrepreneur involved in the project, assisted by the government, in order to create a brand new business type life-style.
