The new sport complex, located at the Riverbend Industrial park, will become one of the most important soccer training center in Salt Lake City for the Latino community. The 36,000-square-foot building sits in the middle and serves the vast majority of the Latino community, one of the fast growing in the country. It will provide specialized training ground for youth soccer, futzal and football teams and an array of supporting human services. The Riverbend Sports Center (RSC) merges the traditional play ground with both a raised mezzanine floor and a secondary attached building dedicated to managing and secondary support services. The combination of soccer training practice with supporting services encourages collaboration in community bonding, collaboration and transmission of information. Athletes are able to gain access to services by stopping by before or after their training time. Spaces are dedicated to relax and focus activities. Other components of the building include administrative offices, conference room, a dedicated area for kids, concession/info area, athletes and visitors restrooms, bleachers for visitors, a lounge resting area as well as a large TV display area and a storage space.
